Rotary Dragon Boat Fun League
June 30 will be our last evening and we will be having a social and final race to determing the fastest team in the league. Todds Hot Dogs will be on site with a dog and drink special for$4. Blue and Green Teams will race at 7:00. Red and Tan Teams will go at 7:30 and then we will have the winners of each race compete at 8:00pm to determine the 2010 winner. Bring your lawn chairs!

Sign up for an exciting season involving practice, coaching and racing on Wednesdays at 7:00pm starting May 19th at our Roth Park Clubhouse. Novice and experienced paddlers are welcome. All equipment is provided.
Registration is $40.00 for 6 weeks of fun competition. Paricipants will be put on a team of 20 paddlers. Each team will have and practice time and two 300m races each evening. This league is focused on having fun and improving your paddling technique. It it suitable for beginner and experienced paddlers alike.
There is a maximum of 100 paddlers who will be assigned to one of 4 teams. A schedule will be set up with two teams paddling at 7:00pm and two teams paddling at 8:00pm each week.
We have 3 Dragon Boat Canada certified coaches to work with the teams. If you are interested in learning to steer a dragon boat we can help with that as well.
If you want to learn to paddle or get tuned up for this year's Festival this is your opportunity to join a great sport, meet new people and have a ton of fun. Get out and try dragon boating!

When: Wednesdays from May 19 to June 23th at 7:00pm
Where: Paddling will be at the Rotary Dragon Boat Clubhouse at Roth Park in Woodstock. Park at the end of the Roth Park parking lot and follow the trail down the paved path to the clubhouse from there.
What do we provide: paddles, lifejackets, coaching, steering and a team t-shirt.
What to bring: Water, Towel, Soft sole shoes/water shoes.Wear clothes that you don't mind getting a bit wet in. Paddling is a splashy affair.
Waivers of liability will need to be signed by each paddler and by parents for children under 18.All paddlers should be able to swim 100 meters in light clothing. The Rotary Club of Woodstock will have a Safety Boat on site and provide instruction on dragon boat safety to paddlers.
This is a fundraising intiative of the Rotary Club of Woodstock. Any proceeds over expenses will go to supporting Rotary projects in the community.
We are looking for interested members of the community who would like to join this great sport and get involved in the Woodstock Dragon Boat Club. Our goal is to provide support in the areas of coaching, training and steering so that residents of Oxford County can enjoy this sport. There is a great opportunity to develop local teams that compete in our festival and others in the area. Some teams may travel and compete at festivals all over Canada and the world.
