All teams registered for this years festival are eligible for a practice session to be arranged the week prior to the races. We will provide a steersperson who will coach your team and steer the boat to get everyone comfortable with paddling, if needed. We strongly recommend that all new teams take advantage of this as it will make a big difference in the enjoyment that you get out of the festival day.
We will provide the paddles and lifejackets
Team captain is required to hand in signed waivers for paddlers (Waivers can be downloaded off the website)
We recommend that each paddler bring a water bottle and wear clothing that can get wet. Paddling is a splashy sport!
If some team members can not make it on your specified day then they might want to come another day. Other teams are ususally more than willing to allow them to practice with them.
The practices will take place at the Pittock Conservation Area Boat Launch.
